Favorite Season? [26 Mar 2010|09:32am]

Hey all. I was interested in watching a complete season of Biggest Loser AU and was wondering what your favorite season is (not including the current one). I'm a fan of the US show, but wanted to try something different.

Thanks :)

I saw Cameron & Sammy yesterday! They are both really nice, Cam especially. He is so chatty and really sweet.

They are looking FANTASTIC!!

Sammy said she only has 17kgs to go, then she's at her goal weight.

Holly's "alliance" with the light blue team [26 Feb 2009|12:34pm]

Since when did the sisters and the brothers re-alliance? Seriously though, Holly is a nutter if she really trusts the boys' word that "they won't vote for them", after they did sorta cross them with the whole double-vote fiasco. She's being awfully quick to trust them...

Sparks fly for The Biggest Loser couple
MAYBE that flab-fighting reality-TV series should change its name to The Biggest Lover.

After losing more than 100kg between them, The Biggest Loser contestants Carrianne and Garry have meantime gained a love match.

Snapped at Sydney airport this week before Carrianne jetted back to Adelaide, the couple are embarking on a long-distance relationship after hooking up at the program finale last week.

I was sure they said that the biggest loser weigh in would be on tonight (saturday) but I can't see it in the tv guide. Does anyone know if it actually is and if so what time?

Farewell Bryce [07 Apr 2008|10:33pm]

I thought his exit from the show tonight was the classiest I'd seen, giving Sam a gift was a really sweet touch.

I get annoyed at AJ trying to make the contestants cry all the time to make more interesting television. When she saw that Bryce wasn't going to break down she brought up his dead father, and when that wasn't enough she started on his best friends in the house. I'm sure her questions are all scripted but that doesn't stop it from pissing me off. I don't tune in to watch people cry.

OMG NOOOOO! [06 Apr 2008|07:50pm]
[ mood | distressed ]

1. Garry should have lost his immunity for putting on, this is the STUPIDEST walk on this show in the history of the 3 seasons.

2. I bloody hope Kirsten doesn't go, shes my favourite!, anyone have any leads, PLEASE somebody put my mind at ease!!!

Thoughts on the secret 'walk' [03 Apr 2008|06:26pm]
[ mood | awake ]

This can also be a reaction post to tonights episode when it comes up. What do you think Garry will see on the walk? I think I heard it might be he gets to swap his weight loss with anyone elses. Meaning they might be pushed ABOVE the yellow line and force someone else underneath it. Because Garry loses so much weight it will hardly force any of them under it !

Bryce has always been my favourite and after tonight's episode he definitely is. I wonder if he smothers his girlfriend in real life or if he really was just really pleased to see her. Anyway, I thought his reaction was sweet.

The biggest personal trainer factory [27 Mar 2008|11:38pm]

Isn't it funny how many of the biggest loser contestants went on to become personal trainers?. And call me cynical but I wasn't impressed with most of the old contestants. If they had stuck to such a healthy lifestyle they wouldn't look as overweight as they do now. Sure they look great compared to their starting weight, but most of them would still be seen in the eyes of the general public as overweight. I personally wouldn't be personally trained by an overweight looking person if I'd never seen them on the show. It's kind of like selling muscle building products if you're Bill Gates.

Adro looked fantastic, and I totally think he is totally the part for his profession. Pati also looked great.

As a personal trainer however it pisses me off a little to see these people milking their B-grade celebrity status to make some money endorsing a lifestyle they themselves obviously aren't %100 committed to. Kristie in particular annoys me, setting up her on franchise etc, she was on tv doing ads after the show so quickly. Sure she has a hundred children or whatever, but you are the advertisement for your product/company. If women want to have her body then I dare say most overweight women need not join her gym as they look pretty much the same as her already.

No Chris? [27 Mar 2008|08:09pm]

I wonder why Chris didn't come back, given he won the last series. I'd be curious to see what he looks like now.

I'm so sick of them always talking about the 'journey'. They need to come up with a new term.

Feel good post [16 Mar 2008|11:12pm]

Has anyone else started their own challenge since the show started.  If so, how much have you lost to date and what is your motivation for losing weight.

I started 12 weeks ago and have lost 4.2 kgs.  I only have another 2.2 kgs to go to reach my goal weight.  It's been incredibly hard work but I feel so much better now that I am fitter.  My motivation is that me and partner are planning to start a family and want to be in top condition.

P.S I so hope Sam wins he  seems like such a nice person.

The game heats up [13 Mar 2008|08:41pm]

Well tonights episode had me very motivated, I actually ran to the shed afterwards and did a home workout.

Not to say I don't normally work out, it's just that Biggest Loser hasn't been too inspirational recently, what with that insufferable mysogonistic boofhead JJ taking up so much of my tv screen with his smug punchable head.
I swear he even talked about himself in third person tonight on the walk "JJ was feeling a bit nervous today" wtf? this guy is going to go seriously postal when he gets out. Has anyone else noticed the insane introverted smiling his eyes have taken on?
I won't be suprised if he doesn't start offering everyone "rainwater from the top end" soon.

Two things that motivated me this week = Michael playing rugby with his brothers, I actually started crying watching that at the end. As much as I give the contestants hassle for crying so often, it was actually tears of joy for his realising of his dream.
The other was watching Shannon workout. Unfortunately he didn't do any sparring, I was waiting with baited breath but it wasn't to be. Still it was such a change to see someone who knew what they were doing with gloves on, unlike supposed "highly decorated martial artists" like Gillian who look silly to the trained eye throwing kicks etc. I get the feeling Michelle could throw a good punch/kick as well.

I'm actually feeling closer to the black team these days, not just because I feel sorry for them having to put up with JJ, just their level headedness. I'm hoping Bryce pulls big numbers, he sticks up for the girls and doesn't seem to be a loudmouth boofhead like Cosi and JJ when they get together.

Black team etc [28 Feb 2008|08:16pm]

I was really fired up by the end of tonights episode, I love the competition between the personal trainers, Shannon and Michelle looked to be choking back tears initially.

It looks like Bob and Gillian are using olympic style lifts (cleans etc) as well as plyometrics like box jumps. This type of training has taken the U.S by storm, it's been used by combat atheletes, gymnasts and the military and police since forever to get people strong and fit fast. They've called it "Cross fit" training and it's only a matter of time before it explodes in Aus.

It involves few weights, and mainly explosive olympic lifts coupled with explosive body weight exercises like chins, push ups, dips, jump squats etc.
Basically it is the most intense and fastest way to get fit.

It's awesome for metabolism, health and building functional muscle using endurance and strength not just bodybuilding principles. Its downside is that it doesn't promote bodybuilding results for the gym junkies, but for atheletes and the average gym user just wanting health and fit bodies it is without peer.

Another downside is the potential for injury with people training without trainers.

Heaps of vids on Youtube as well.

Is Steven in or out? [28 Feb 2008|09:23pm]

The montage showed Steven and the house were told that there were 4 black team members. So is Steven in or out?
